Pop? Tell me your thoughts please!
Well now I drink Diet Coke again. Not a lot, but I do drink it. I do make sure I get my water in, though. If you can stay off of it as long as you can, I would. The carbonation CAN stretch your pouch in th beginning and diet soda offers NO nutrition.
And I do enjoy a small glass of red wine every now and then. Beer is too carbonated. I was never a big drinker anyway!
I see we had the same surgeon! Dr. Svendson is the BEST!
Something I've also noticed going through the board is what works for me generally doesn't for most folks. *shrug* YMMV
Good luck however you decide to make your journey!!

Hey LisaJoy!
Ugh...pop - can't live with it, can't live without it...well not really. I'll be honest, when I first started going to coffees and saw Lynn drink pop, I couldn't understand why she would do that when it was a "no-no." Then about a year ago she gave it up and she posted here about how much more she can feel her pouch...well over the course of the last year I have gotten into drinking pop and I have gotten to the point of drinking one or two bottles a day. Well, I decided recently that I really have to get back on track with the basics - no drinking before, during and after meals, MORE water - hell - ANY water is better than the NO water I've been getting in. So today, so far, no pop and I hope to keep it that way. I've had 48 oz of water and plan on getting to at least 64 before the end of the day. I also hope to start feeling my pouch again and feeling full for longer by getting my protein in first.
I think pop really does two things - it's not good for the pouch...could stretch it out, could make you feel it less AND it persuades you from getting water in. So in my opinion...don't tempt fate...if you're doing okay with out it...keep it that way!
I'll let you know how it goes...but rest assured, I no longer "shake my finger" at others...this road is tough and I have fallen back to many old habits which others could shake their fingers at...so everyday is a new day and I want to start over by treating my tool with respect and if I'm trying - I am successful!!!
Hugs - Tracy
